The Health Bureau says it has no immediate plans to extend the number of groups qualified for COVID-19 testing, suggesting that current border controls between Macau and Guangdong Province won’t be eased just yet.
Macau currently has a daily virus test quota of 6,000, but only around 1,000 people registered for tests on Saturday.
While the waiting game continues, Macau has not recorded any new COVID-19 cases for 39 days, with only one infected patient remaining in hospital and 44 recovered as of Sunday.
There are 281 people undergoing quarantine in Pousada Marina Infante Hotel, including 176 locals, 27 non-residents and 78 visitors.
