After suspending operations last month, the shuttle bus service linking Macau and Hong Kong via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge is resuming with limited operations from Friday, a small step along the road to reopening travel between the two SARs.
The “Golden Bus” service will restart with 12 daily services between Macau and Hong Kong, of which six will depart from Macau and six from Hong Kong, each every two hours. Service starts from 10:30am and ends at 8:10pm.
All public transportation between Macau and Hong Kong was suspended last month as part of efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19.
However, while bus services are starting to resume, the SARs are yet to lift mandatory 14-day quarantine measures applied to most arrivals from one to the other. Macau currently requires Hong Kong residents to undergo 14-day quarantine upon arrival, although Hong Kong has exempted its residents returning from Macau to undergo quarantine, given they undertook a 14-day quarantine in Macau.
Hong Kong recently announced that its quarantine measures would remain in place until at least 7 June.
