A total of 38 Macau casinos have re-opened as of 9 March 2020, with 46% of the SAR’s gaming tables now back in operation.
The figures, released by the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau this week, show that 3,100 of Macau’s total of 6,739 gaming tables are now in operation. Macau’s gaming properties reopened on 20 February after 15-day closure, however the government also implemented a series of hygienic restrictions on casinos floors to ensure the safety of staff and guests.
Those restrictions include leaving enough space between each table to avoid mass gathering, limiting the number of people allowed to sit at any one gaming table to four and requiring everyone on the casino floor to wear a face mask.
The DICJ has so far found 28 violations of those restrictions since the resumption of casinos, including guests gathering, guests not wearing masks and inadequate spacing between tables and seats.
