Philippines gaming regulator PAGCOR has reported revenue from gaming operations of Php55.77 billion (US$1.09 billion) for the first nine months of 2019, an increase of 10.9% over the same period last year.

According to PAGCOR’s latest income statement, published on its website on Wednesday, profit for the period amounted to Php4.97 billion (US$97.5 million) – well down on the Php37.59 billion accrued during the first nine months of 2018, although last year’s figure was bolstered by the sale of land to Solaire owner and operator Bloomberry Resorts.

The regulator’s expenses included Php29.28 billion mandated by its charter – namely a 50% government share and 5% franchise tax. It also paid almost Php12 billion in CSR contributions and Php11.38 billion in operating expenses.

Gaming income for the nine-month period included Php21.11 billion from licensed casinos and Php4.00 from POGOs. PAGCOR also revealed that income from casino customers for the period totalled Php18.42 billion, while income from junket operations, non-casino customers and other income – which incorporates some non-gaming revenue – came to Php39.45 billion.
