Jay Chun, head of the MGS Entertainment Show and Chairman of the Macau Gaming Equipment Manufacturers Association, has expressed his desire for this year’s MGS Entertainment Show to highlight the fundamental role Macau will play in the Greater Bay Area and his hope that “the influence of MGS will radiate to neighboring countries and regions from the epicenter of Macau.”
His comments were made during a press conference held at The Plaza Restaurant on Thursday to preview this year’s MGS Entertainment Show, with Chun stating, “The show is diversified in content to the extent that this event is able to take full advantage of Macau’s positioning as an international platform and meaningful trading port.”
MGS 2019 will have seven major areas including leisure technology, IR procurement, tourism culture, gaming equipment, hotel environmental protection, hotel supplies and security products and services.
According to organizers, one of the highlights of the show will be a live showcasing of 5G technology. Attendees will be able to test some of the potential applications of 5G thanks to a partnership between MGS and local Macau telecommunications operator CTM.
Chun noted it is likely that the technology will soon be incorporated into gaming development, allowing for a reduction in the dependence on fixed lines and opening a new horizon of technical possibilities.
MGS 2019 will also include a China International Import Expo promotion area, a summit in cooperation with Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Macau) Limited, (ICBC), and digital gaming industry summit organized together with Sina Games Channel “aiming to create a professional and authoritative communication platform for both gaming and e-sports industries,” Chun said.
MGS Entertainment Show 2019 will take place from 12 to 14 November at The Venetian Macao.
