Hoiana Shores Golf Club, the 18-hole course set to become a key feature of Vietnamese integrated resort Hoiana, will welcome its first players from 23 September 2019.
Designed by architect Robert Trent Jones II, the unique course will be the first facility at Hoiana to invite members of the public for a preview ahead of the IR’s Grand Opening in early 2020.
“Hoiana Shores Golf Club will indeed be the first component of this larger development welcoming both domestic and international tourism to our shores,” said Hoiana’s Group COO, Steve Wolstenholme. “As a group we intend to showcase the vibrancy and economic potential of not only Hoi An and Central Vietnam but this region in general.”
Spanning 985 hectares and four kilometers of beachfront on Vietnam’s central coastline, the US$4 billion Hoiana is a joint venture project between Suncity Group, Hong Kong’s Chow Tai Fook and local real estate firm VinaCapital.
In its 1H19 results announcement issued last week, Suncity revealed that Hoiana is expected to be developed in seven phases over the next 13 years, with Phase 1 – due for completion in either 4Q19 or 1Q20, to include more than 1,000 hotel rooms, restaurants, entertainment and a casino with 140 gaming tables and over 300 slot machines.
In the meantime, the preview period for Hoiana Shores Golf Club will see all proceeds from visiting golfers donated to local charities.
