Inside Asian Gaming is excited to announce its expansion into Japan via two new Japanese-language gaming industry media products and a cooperation agreement with Japan’s leading B2B hotel and restaurant industry media brand, Ohta Publications.

With Japan’s integrated resort industry inching ever closer to becoming a reality, Inside Asian Gaming demonstrated its commitment to this exciting new Asian gaming destination with the launch of IAG Japan in January.

IAG Japan is a bilingual version, in Japanese and English, of IAG’s traditional monthly print magazine and is distributed digitally to our rapidly growing Japanese database each and every calendar month. In particular it will feature an increased focus on developments within Japan’s gaming industry, including feature stories, insights and interviews with key industry figures.

Inside Asian Gaming has also launched a Japanese language-version of leading Asian gaming industry e-newsletter IAG Breakfast Briefing, titled IAG Daily Briefing, which hits the inboxes of our Japanese readers at 12pm Tokyo time every weekday.

In launching IAG Japan and IAG Daily Briefing in 2019, Inside Asian Gaming has hired a team of native Japanese-language journalists based on the ground in Japan as well as a high quality Japanese translation team, significantly expanding the company’s Japan presence and expertise.

However, IAG’s commitment to Japan extends much further than this. In December, IAG signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Cooperation Agreement with Japan’s leading B2B hotel and restaurant industry media brand, Ohta Publications Co.,Ltd, based in Ginza, Tokyo, that will see the two companies work together in the development of media to cover the nation’s IR industry.

Ohta Publications is publisher of the highly-acclaimed HOTERES magazine for Japan’s hotel and restaurant businesses.

The agreement, which followed around five months of discussions, provides for a number of cooperation initiatives such as content and editorial space exchanges, information and business contact sharing, distribution list development, cross-jurisdictional operations cooperation and business costs minimization.

The agreement also contemplates the possibility of an even closer partnership between the parties in the future.

The President of Ohta Publications, Susumu Ohta, said of the agreement, “I am extremely pleased to be collaborating with IAG, a company which has been a leader in the gaming industry for many years. By combining IAG’s know-how with Ohta Publications’ experience spanning over 50 years in the hotel industry, we look forward to providing information that is beneficial to all of those involved in integrated resorts in Japan.”

IAG’s newly realized expansion into Japan – widely tipped to become one of the leading integrated resort destinations in the world once the first IRs open their doors – is an exciting opportunity to not only cover local developments but also to play a part in educating the Japanese business community about the many opportunities IRs can present.

An exciting future awaits.
