Slot machines at City of Dreams took an average USD204.5 per machine per day in the resort’s first month of operation according to a breakdown by Asian Gaming Intelligence of figures supplied by the operator.
Slot handle for the month was approximately USD81 million shared among 1,320 machines said Melco Crown Entertainment Ltd (Nasdaq: MPEL). Averaged over the 30 days of June that works out to USD204.5 per day.
Just under USD100 million was taken by CoD’s average 376 operational mass-market tables in the same period. That means slot revenue accounted for 44.75 percent of all mass-market turnover at CoD in June.
By way of a comparator, at The Venetian Macao next door, slot handle in the first quarter of 2009 was USD558.5 million from an average of 2,115 machines, giving an average win per machine per day of USD223.
The Venetian Macao’s mass-market table turnover in Q1 2009 was USD854.3 million. Slots at The Venetian Macao accounted therefore for 39.53 percent of that property’s mass-market turnover in Q1 2009.
This marker suggests CoD is ‘in the zone’ even at this early stage, when it comes to slots’ contribution to mass revenues set against its nearest rival The Venetian Macao.
Other highlights mentioned by MPEL regarding CoD’s first month of operation included:
1.2 million visitors–the equivalent of 41,000 visitors per day; rolling chip (VIP chip) performance at CoD showing week to week sequential improvement with total rolling chip volume of approximately USD1.94 billion.
