Wynn Resorts (Macau), S.A. and the Department of Tourism at Fudan University have collaborated to launch the “Wynn Educational Tour”, which will bring students from mainland China and overseas to Wynn Resorts to learn about hotel operations and glean other professional knowledge.
At a launch ceremony on Wednesday attended by officials from the Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ) and Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) plus representatives from various Macau universities, Wynn Macau CFO and Chief Administrative Officer of Craig Fullalove signed a cooperation memorandum signifying that Fudan University will be the first to cooperate with Wynn in launching an educational tour program.
Wynn said the educational tour program will focus on providing mainland students and overseas students with a study tours, real-life experiences, academic exchanges and cultural explorations.
“Wynn will also host professional seminars, where Wynn management teams will provide attendees with an in-depth understanding of hotel operations, learning first-hand about different hotel departments and about Wynn’s unique art collections and large-scale floral arrangements, while also gaining knowledge about the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star service excellence for which Wynn is renowned.”
Wynn said it hopes to train more future talents for the hospitality industry through “The Wynn Educational Tour” while supporting the diversified development of Macau’s tourism industry, actively transforming Macau into a popular destination for educational tours.
Ma U Leng, Head of the Organizational Planning and Development Department of the MGTO, said in a speech that the educational tour is “a combination of tourism and learning activities, which is one of the key development directions of the Macau tourism market and has great potential for development.
“The Wynn Educational Tour project signifies that the industry is actively promoting the transformation of more non-gaming elements into study tour products, and the development of distinctive tourism products and services to bring diversified experiences to visitors.”
In the Macau government’s diversified development policy, a development plan centered on integrated tourism and leisure industry is proposed, and “Tourism + Education” is one of the key policy initiatives. The government expects to provide policy support for the long-term development of study tours in Macau.
