The Macao Government Tourism Office has announced plans to host its first tourism promotional event in Europe since the COVID-19 pandemic, with the “Experience Macao Unlimited – Macao Promotion in Lisbon” to take place in Portugal from 15 to 22 April.
According to the MGTO, the event will showcase Macau’s offer of new travel experiences with the goal of sparking interest by Europeans to visiting Macau in line with the city’s development of international visitor markets for tourism and economic revival.
Among the features of the event will be a video-mapping show highlighting Macau attractions through light artistry, to be unveiled at the Square of Commerce in Lisbon from 19 April. The mapping show will comprise four chapters focusing on the crossover of Chinese and Portuguese cultures, heritage, gastronomy and the integrated of tourism to support economic diversification, among other elements.
The MGTO also said it will arrange for a delegation of Macau’s travel trade to inspect tourism projects in Portugal and to attend an Economy, Trade and Tourism Presentation Seminar organized by the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) on 19 April, which will present the strengths of Macau’s tourism industry to Lisbon’s tourism office, members of the travel trade and media.
