US tribal casino operator Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment (MGE) has announced a new partnership with leading live entertainment company Live Nation Entertainment to help acquire talent for its Korean integrated resort, Project Inspire – MGE’s premier integrated entertainment resort currently in development in South Korea.
Mohegan’s first international foray, Inspire is scheduled to open its first phase in 2021 at a cost of US$1.6 billion, including three luxury hotel towers, high-end shopping, a 15,000 seat indoor arena and large casino.
“Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment and Live Nation have been long-time partners in creating one of the most successful arena venues in the world for its size, the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut,” said Mohegan CEO Mario Kontomerkos. “Now we are partnering again to do the same, only this time it will be at the Inspire Super Arena at the Incheon International Airport, right in the heart of the burgeoning Northern Asian entertainment market. The move further solidifies MGE’s position as the premier global gaming and entertainment resort developer and operator.”
According to Mohegan, the Korean partnership with Live Nation Entertainment will ensure that Project Inspire venues attract the “very best in global talent and create the region’s most exciting entertainment experience.”
MGE’s flagship property, Mohegan Sun, has partnered with Live Nation since 2001 to secure talent for the 10,000-seat Mohegan Sun Arena. During that time, Live Nation has delivered over 1,100 performances, the company said.
