Suncity Group Holdings Limited has announced a strategic partnership with Cambodian casino operator Golden Sun Sky Entertainment Co., Ltd that will see its subsidiary, Suncity Group Management and Consultancy Limited, provide consultancy services for a new US$360 million integrated resort currently under construction in Sihanoukville.

Described as a “legally binding” agreement, the partnership will also increase Suncity’s footprint in Cambodia and complement its investment in Vietnam IR Hoaina, the company said. Suncity completed the acquisition of a 34% stake in Hoiana last week.

Golden Sun Sky’s new Sihanoukville IR, located at Otres Beach, is due to open for business in late 2019. It covers an area of 23.7 hectares with total gross floor area of 650,000 square meters and will stand 130.35 meters tall when complete, including 33 stories above ground and one below.

According to Suncity, the hotel will include a casino, hotels, duty free shopping and sports betting facilities among other amenities.

“With the experience of entertainment and tourism, Suncity Group aims to provide a diversified global entertainment experience through exploring new destinations and tourist attractions, facilitate the local tourism industry and stimulate economic development of Cambodia,” Suncity said.
