More than 100 construction workers and unemployed people in Macau clashed with police during a march to the office of the Labour Affairs Bureau on Monday reported the South China Morning Post.
The protestors demanded to see the head of the bureau and called for better protection for workers and tighter curbs on illegal workers who, they said, were pushing them out of their jobs. Clashes broke out when police officers tried to take down their details. Protesters tried to leap over a metal barricade. About 200 officers were deployed, half of them in riot gear. They removed at least four protesters.
