Macau Government Tourist Office held a series of promotional events in South Korea’s capital Seoul and in Busan last week to encourage more Koreans to visit the casino territory.
Although South Korea has casinos of its own, only one—Kangwon Land in Jeongseongun—is allowed by law to let local people in to play.
South Korea was the seventh biggest visitor market for Macau last year, with close to 280,000 visitors, according to the statistics from the MGTO. Currently Air Macau, the local flag carrier, operates four flights a week between Macau and Seoul.
