Macau’s foreign exchange reserves reached US$15.9 billion at the end of last year, representing an increase of 19.6% year on year, according to the Monetary Authority of Macau.
The cash should come in handy if unemployment rises significantly and the government decides it needs to spend even more on public works projects than the 10.2 billion patacas stimulus package already announced.
