Investigators have found HK$80 million in a safety deposit box held on behalf of Ao Man-long, Macau’s former secretary of public works convicted of corruption last year.
The South China Morning Post says at least another HK$150 million remains unaccounted for. Last year a Macau court heard Ao, who had a luxury HK$78 million home in London, received more than HK$637 million in bribes in return for approving public and private contracts for construction and engineering firms. Ao was handed a 27-year jail term in January last year.
