Lotte Tour’s Jeju Dream Tower integrated resort saw its casino revenues soar by 249% to KRW152.3 billion (US$116 million) in 2023, aided by Korea’s COVID-19 recovery and the return of international tourists.
According to details filed with the Korea Exchange on Tuesday, the 2023 result included a 264% increase in table games revenue to KRW138.0 billion (US$105 million) and a 149% increase in machine revenue to KRW14.3 billion (US$10.9 million).
This was despite a subdued performance in December, when casino revenues fell by 20.6% month-on-month to KRW14.2 billion (US$10.8 million).
Hotel revenues fell by 22.3% year-on-year to KRW91.7 billion (US$69.8 million) in 2023, and by 21.4% year-on-year to KRW6.98 billion (US$5.3 million) in December.
The tallest building in Jeju at 38 floors or 169 meters high, Jeju Dream Tower features a retail mall, 14 restaurants and bars, an outdoor pool deck, top floor skydeck with lounge, two spas and a casino boasting 150 tables and 300 slot machines.
The casino was relocated from its former home at the smaller Lotte Hotel Jeju in June 2021 and covers more than 5,000 square meters while offering 141 gaming tables, 190 slot machines and 71 electronic table games.
