MGM China is looking to elevate the interpretation of Chinese art to new heights via an immersive exhibition by renowned artist Hsiao Chin titled, “To Infinity and Beyond: The Art of Hsiao Chin”.
Celebrating Art Macao, this unique and innovative exhibition of Hsiao’s works is described as the most important stop on his world tour, comprising his first digital sculptural installation, a panoramic cosmic art movie and virtual reality art. The exhibition integrates art, technology and entertainment into a revolutionary curatorial concept called “ART-TECH-TAINMENT”.
Held in the Black Box space of MGM Cotai, the large-scale immersive exhibition is a cross-border cultural journey that re-examines the 5,000 years of Chinese cultural traditions and the unlimited potential of digital technology in art presentation. Based on Hsaio’s works with the integration of technology, the traditional Chinese philosophies in his paintings are expressed in a legible way.
From physical artworks to multimedia interaction, the eight zones of the exhibition feature a new art exploration through the vibrant and colorful universe of Hsiao Chin, fostering and perpetuating the vitality of art to Infinity and Beyond.
Hsiao is known as a master of modern Chinese abstract art, having begun exploring the genre in the 1950s – blending traditional Chinese philosophies such as Zen and Taoism with how space exploration has reshaped our understanding of the relationship between humans and the universe. His combination of Chinese and western philosophies has seen his art shown around the world, including in Madrid, Barcelona, Milan, London, Paris and New York.
“To Infinity and Beyond: The Art of Hsiao Chin” will be open to the public until 24 September.
