Korea’s Lotte Tour Development reported casino sales of KRW10.3 billion (US$7.9 million) in June, down 9,8% month-on-month although 70.2% higher than the same period last year.

Casino sales included KRW9.40 billion (US$7.2 million) from table games, down 12.0% month-on-month, and KRW897 million (US$690,000) from gaming machines, up 22.4%. Table drop of KRW103.8 billion (US$79.9 million) was down 8.7% month-on-month but up 286% year-on-year.

While casino operations slowed, it was a different business for the property’s hotel which saw sales increase by 14.5% over May to KRW8.80 billion (US$6.8 million).

For the first six months of 2023 combined, casino sales are up 95.9% over the same period last year to KRW41.1 billion (US$31.6 million), aided by a 177% increase in turnover to KRW521.4 billion (US$401 million).

The tallest building in Jeju at 38 floors or 169 meters high, Jeju Dream Tower features a retail mall, 14 restaurants and bars, an outdoor pool deck, top floor skydeck with lounge, two spas and a casino boasting 150 tables and 300 slot machines.

The casino was relocated from its former home at the smaller Lotte Hotel Jeju in June 2021 and covers more than 5,000 square meters while offering 141 gaming tables, 190 slot machines and 71 electronic table games.
