Macau’s Secretary for Economy and Finance, Lei Wai Nong, issued a directive on Wednesday appointing Chui Hou Ian, a consultant to the Secretary and to the Treasury Office, as Deputy Director of the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) for a one-year term.
“In view of the vacancy in the position of Deputy Director of the DICJ and the fact that Chui Hou Ian’s curriculum vitae shows his professional ability and competence, he has been appointed as Deputy Director,” Lei said.
According to information contained within the directive, Chui holds a Bachelor’s degree in Gaming Management from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and an Executive Master’s degree in Hotel Management from the same institution. From 2006 to 2009 he worked in private sector management and was appointed by the government to represent Wing Hing Lottery Limited from 2020 to 2021, and as a consultant to the Office of the Secretary for Economic Services and the Treasury from 2020.
Chui is also a member of Chief Executive Ho Iat-seng’s 2019 campaign team, where he was the press liaison. In the past, he was also a standing member of the youth committee of the Industrial Association of Macau.
