Universal Hotels and Resorts Inc (UHRI) says its new integrated resort in Cebu, Philippines, will ramp up gaming operations in the coming months following its recent soft launch.

The property, which unveiled the North Wing of its gaming floor when it welcomed first guests in early May, has been touted as the largest gaming floor in central and southern Philippines with a total floor area of 21,000 square meters at full operations. In an update, UHRI said it will “showcase an Electronic Gaming Stadium and other ancillary gaming offerings in the next few months,” while the casino floor will also host live entertainment via Axis bar and lounge.

Only three of a planned 40 restaurants are currently operational but this is also planned to increase in the near future. Those currently operational are Chinese restaurant Xin Tian Di, Filipino restaurant Fina and Italian steakhouse Il Primo.

“As NUSTAR is taking shape to become the ultimate lifestyle and leisure destination in the region, we invite guests to explore and experience the newly opened casino and dining outlets,” said Trevor Hammond, vice president for Integrated Resort and Gaming Operations of NUSTAR Resort and Casino.

NUSTAR’s resort and gaming operations are owned and managed by UHRI while hospitality and F&B comes under the purview of Robinsons Hotels and Resorts (RHR).
