Events are starting to re-emerge in Japan, with the announcement that the IR & Inbound Business Seminar – hosted jointly by Osaka prefecture, city, the Osaka Tourism Bureau and the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry – will be held on Tuesday 23 March 2021.
The seminar had originally been scheduled for 19 January but was postponed due to extensive COVID-19 infections across the country.
The revised seminar will see Tetsuya Nakamura, Director for Resource Development, Marketing Department & Planning Department of the Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau, speak about initiatives by the Osaka Tourism Bureau in the pandemic as well as development of inbound business going forward.
Professor Kazuo Takahashi from the Faculty of Business Administration of Kindai University will speak about business opportunities and how inbound business, including IR bids, may exist “with corona” and “post corona”. Also scheduled for March is the Osaka MICE safety Promotion EXPO.
To run from 24 to 25 March at Intex Osaka, the expo will look to restore Osaka’s MICE industry to what it was before COVID and help the Osaka and Kansai economy recover and develop “with and after corona” by building a model event that overcomes the sense of unease of vendors and attendees.
Government organizations, local municipalities and MICE operators will work together to host the event, taking an “All Osaka” stance.
