Star Entertainment Group has opened its new luxury suite hotel, The Darling, at The Star Gold Coast – part of the company’s Australia-wide property makeover.
The 17-storey hotel is considered the jewel in crown of The Star Gold Coast’s AU$850 million redevelopment, featuring seven suites on each level plus VIP gaming, premium resort facilities and a rooftop restaurant and bar alongside an infinity edge pool.
A new private gaming room, known as Sovereign, is located on Level 1 offering table games and around 200 electronic gaming machines.
In total The Darling features 57 suites ranging in size from 70 square meters to 328 square meters with wrap-around balconies. It was designed by globally renowned IR specialists Steelman Partners.
“We began our transformation with the opening of multi award-winning restaurant Kiyomi in December 2014 and a fantastic team exuding phenomenal skill, passion and drive has seen our vision come to life perfectly,” said Star Entertainment Group Managing Director Queensland Geoff Hogg
“We believed in the growth and future potential of the city and over the last three years have remained committed to delivering a world-class destination that will further propel the Gold Coast onto the world stage, while also staying true to the spirit of our unique surroundings.
“The essence of The Darling is to provide guests with an unprecedented level of sophistication the city has never seen before.”
A fusion of tradition and opulence, The Darling features a grand chandelier in the lobby weighing 750kg as well as specially curated artwork.
It also boasts a rooftop restaurant and bar, Nineteen at The Star, which offers guests spectacular coastal and city skyline views.
“As a hero feature of our monumental transformation, Nineteen at The Star has been carefully designed for those who seek a truly high-class venue with an eye for design and with a desire to experience only the very best in dining and entertainment,” said Hogg.
