Suncity Group held its “11th Anniversary – The World Shines” gala dinner at Sheraton Grand Macao Hotel on Monday, where guests were treated to a night of “glittering glamor” including performances from Korean dance king Rain, Hong Kong’s Queen of Pop Sally Yeh, Mainland singer Li Yu Chun and popular idol Joker Xue.
In a press release, Suncity said it now operated 29 VIP clubs worldwide including newly opened VIP clubs in 2017 at Paradise City in Korea, Okada Manila and NagaWorld in Cambodia. Its number of overseas VIP clubs now totals 12.
“This proves that the group is internationalizing,” it said.
Suncity also said that it had implemented the concept of “Integrated Travel-Entertainment” in 2017 in an attempt to help transform Macau into a world center of tourism and leisure.
“Having the professional reservation feature of Sun Travel as a foundation and combining with the entertainment projects in film production and music concerts provided by Sun Entertainment Culture Limited, Suncity Group launched brand new diversified tourism products to attract more tourists to Macau, extend their stay, boost consumption, foster the Macau tourism industry and promote vibrant development of related industries,” it said.
Suncity added that its subsidiary, Sun Food and Beverage Group Limited, inaugurated five new establishments including Sun Chinese Restaurant in Old Taipa village. The other four are all located in Cotai.
Other 2017 achievements included the acquisition of a 34% stake in the HOIANA integrated resort currently being developed in Vietnam’s Quang Nam province, with Suncity Group subsequently entering into a technical service agreement to provide technical services and pre-opening services to a comprehensive resort project in Van Don, in the Quang Ninh province of Vietnam.
However, “Although Suncity Group has become a transnational enterprise with business activities across the globe, as an enterprise rooted in Macau, Suncity Group is fully aware that the entertainment industry is Macau’s most important economic pillar,” the company added.
“Suncity Group is promoting Macau’s economic development through investing in more resources in the local entertainment industry. Meanwhile, the group will complement the Macau SAR’s policy of promoting diversification by devoting itself to advancing the entertainment and the gastronomy sectors.
“It will also persist in expanding overseas markets and pursuing multi-directional development to become a leading global enterprise in integrated entertainment.”
