Singapore integrated resorts Marina Bay Sands and Resorts World Sentosa have announced they will reopen retail plus food and beverage outlets from today as the nation enters Phase 2 of easing COVID-19 restrictions.

Marina Bay Sands said in a notice posted on the company’s website that almost 200 stores at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, comprising both retail and F&B tenanted outlets, would reopen under enhanced hygiene and safety protocols.

However, only members of the Sands Rewards loyalty program will have access, while outlets operated directly by MBS will remain closed, “as will all other venues and attractions in the Integrated Resort (IR) such as the hotel, casino, ArtScience Museum and Sands Expo and Convention Centre.”

Resorts World Sentosa issued a similar announcement on Thursday, with restaurant dining back on the menu from today. Like MBS, it added, “Other guest offerings at Resorts World Sentosa remain suspended in the meantime. We are working closely with the authorities on our reopening plans to invite our guests back to our resort in a safe manner, in line with Government’s health directives.”

The Singapore government announced the Phase 2 easing earlier this week, which allows for retail businesses, sporting and public facilities, playgrounds, beaches, stadiums, swimming complexes, sports halls, gyms and restaurants to reopen.

Entertainment venues are among those not yet on the reopening list, alongside libraries, museums and religious congregations.
