Macau’s gaming operators have continued donations and medical supplies to Hubei Province and communities in Macau for their ongoing fight against COVID-19.

Suncity Group CEO Alvin Chau recently donated MOP$30 million to Hubei Province, the Central People’s Government in the Macau SAR revealed on Wednesday, taking the total contribution of Chau and Suncity to mainland China alone to MOP$71.5 million.

Suncity had previously donated MOP$30 million to Hubei and Chau RMB$10 million (MOP$11.5 million) to Zhaoqing City in Guangdong Province.

Melco Resorts & Entertainment has donated HK$20 million to Hubei while establishing a MOP$5 million special aid fund for workers in need with the Macao Federation of Trade Unions and donating MOP$3 million to the Women’s General Association of Macau for the purchase of surgical face masks.

Sands China has donated MOP$20 million to Hubei and another MOP$5 million to various local associations in Macau. They include a MOP$1.65 million donation to 33 elderly or rehabilitation centers in Macau and MOP$1 million to four NGOs, aimed at providing economic assistance to families adversely affected by the COVID-19 epidemic. Sands China also donated 500,000 surgical masks and 30,000 bottles of hand sanitizer to the SAR government.

MGM China has donated MOP$20 million to Hubei, 50,000 surgical masks to the SAR government and 1,000 packs of medical preventive supplies for three local charities, and this week introduced a financial assistance program for around 600 local SME vendors.

Wynn Macau has donated HK$20 million and 30,000 medical kits to Hubei, plus another 1 million surgical masks to the public.

Galaxy has donated MOP$20 million to Hubei and MOP$5 million to associations in Macau, while SJM also donated MOP$20 million to Hubei.

VIP operators Tak Chun Group, Guangdong Group and Meg-Star Group have also contributed donations and surgical masks to the community.
