Genting Hong Kong’s new casino cruise ship, World Dream, has begun its voyage from Germany to Hong Kong ahead of its scheduled launch of Asian operations on 17 November 2017.
Operating under Genting Hong Kong’s Dream Cruises line, the 18-deck, 151,300 ton ship – described as a “floating high-end integrated resort at sea” – will be based between Hong Kong and Guangzhou, joining sister ship Genting Dream in servicing the Southeast Asian region.
“Genting Cruise Lines is proud of the progress we have made with World Dream and are eagerly awaiting her arrival in Asia to begin taking our guests on unforgettable journeys and creating unforgettable experiences for our passengers,” said Genting Cruise Lines President Kent Zhu.
“World Dream’s dual-homeports in Guangzhou (Nansha) and Hong Kong underlines our ongoing commitment to continue to support the Pearl River Delta as a major cruise hub in the Asia Pacific.”
The 3,400-capacity ship will travel from the company’s shipyards in Germany to Gibraltar, through the Mediterranean Sea and the Suez Canal, across the Indian Ocean and to Sri Lanka and Singapore before arriving in Hong Kong in mid-November.
Once in operation, World Dream will run alternating six day, five night itineraries to destinations including Boracay and Manila in the Philippines and Ho Chi Minh and Nha Trang in Vietnam as well as shorter cruises around the Pearl River Delta.
