The Japan Gaming Congress will no longer be held in Tokyo this year, with organizer Clarion Events announcing on Monday that the annual conference will instead form part of ICE Asia and SiGMA Asia, to be held in Manila on 8 and 9 June 2020.
Confirming rumors that JgC would no longer go ahead at its traditional home of Conrad Tokyo, Clarion said incorporating the event into ICE Asia synched with its goal of producing the largest gaming show held in Asia to date, with the ICE Asia conference set to highlight development of the Japanese IR gaming sector as well as issues facing the developing integrated resort and casino industries throughout Asia.
“ICE Asia will bring world-class technology and a new horizon for gaming in the region,” said Stuart Dacre, Event Director of ICE Asia.
“We are bringing everything you would expect from an ICE branded event, whilst activating local gaming communities across Asia.”
Japan Gaming Congress was first held as a one-off conference in 2014 before returning in May 2017, where it had until now become a regular feature on the annual Asian gaming calendar.
