Genting Hong Kong has announced the maiden journey of its new luxury jet Crystal Skye, with VIP guests set to travel in style to Kenya and Tahiti later this year.
Crystal Skye, which seats up to 86 guests each catered for by personal butlers, will take off from either Hong Kong or Macau – depending on guest preference – on 30 September and fly to Nairobi before moving on to the crystal clear waters of French Polynesia eight days later. A seat on the flight costs US$45,000 and includes accommodation at the finest resorts and a guided African safari.
Future flights will be completely customizable with guests able to charter a flight for anything from one to 28 nights and travel around the globe. The Boeing 777-200LR jet can travel non-stop for 19 hours at a time.
President of Crystal Cruises, Kent Zhu, said Crystal Skye represents a quantum leap in the standard of luxury travel.
“Crystal Skye is the world’s only twin-aisle private plane, accommodating just 86 guests and able to take them to destinations on the other side of the world point-to-point via non-stop flights of up to 19 hours,” he said.
“Taking the art of travel to new heights, literally, Crystal Skye will cater to a clientele that can afford their own private jet but would prefer to travel with extended groups of friends and family in the most spacious aircraft in the world and entrust their journey to the vast expertise and knowledge of the acclaimed Crystal brand for an all-inclusive yet ultra-exclusive, hassle free experience.”
The plane is said to boast the highest crew-to-passenger ratio of any twin aisle aircraft in the world, with 180-degree flat beds, an expansive social lounge with stand-up bar, a wine cellar and food prepared onboard by a Michelin starred chef.
