Australian slot machine giant Aristocrat and International Games System Co Ltd (IGS) have terminated a joint development agreement under which the Taiwanese arcade game provider had featured Aristocrat titles on its website and social platforms.
In a statement released overnight, IGS said it would remove the games from all of its platforms by the end of July after Aristocrat “changed the business plan of the project due to rapid changes in the market.”
The companies originally partnered together in 2015 via the Fa Fa Fa Slots application, offering players across the Asia Pacific region “free play” versions of various Aristocrat slots titles including “50 Dragons”, “Wild Panda” and “Double Happiness”.
IGS said it expects termination of the agreement to reduce average revenue by around NT$28 million (US$923,000) and average monthly operating profit by around NT$7 million.
“The game platform [will] continue to provide the company’s own games and maintain platform services,” it said.
IGS is described as one of the top arcade game providers in Greater China with sale and operations spreading across Asia. It offers products including racing, dancing and children’s card games to players from China and Southeast Asian countries.
