Electronic Table Game specialist Interblock says ETGs have played a key role in the positive revenue results enjoyed by Asian markets such as Macau and the Philippines following a recent surge in new installations.
Singling out the example of Macau, where the company recently installed 248 stations at the Venetian and another 100 stations at Melco Resorts’ Mocha Club properties, Interblock Vice President of Asia Michael Hu said the city’s table cap continued to prompt operators away from traditional table games in search of alternative options.
“I believe this is why we are seeing an increase in large ETG installations. ETGs are essentially aiding the overall health of Asian markets as they recover from the collapse of the VIP market and current caps on live table game limits,” said Hu.
“ETGs are also improving operators’ bottom line, due to their ability to be active 24/7 with or without a live dealer.”
Interblock’s recent Asian installations have included a 50-seat stadium at Resorts World Genting; a 40-seat stadium at One Opera Hotel in Vietnam; a 32-seat stadium at New World Hotel in Vietnam and a 10-seat stadium at Okada Manila.
Interblock launched its new Interblock eTable at G2E Asia last month, which offers baccarat and blackjack in a five-seat configuration and allows operators to switch between play with or without a live dealer at the press of a button.
“This option gives operators the flexibility to generate revenue with or without a dealer, depending on their needs throughout the week or at any time of day,” Hu said, noting that he expected the ETG trend to continue growing in Asia as new properties continue to open.
“We work closely with our customers to determine what the best solution and product mix would be based on space and their player base.
“Operators are combining multiple game types in their Stadium spaces, providing players with multiple game options.”
