Resorts World Manila will re-open its retail mall, cinema and performing arts theater – all of which were closed following the attack that claimed 38 lives two weeks ago – today (15 June), the company says.
In an official response to a query from Pagcor in which the Philippine gaming regulator asked what impact the suspension of the property’s gaming license may have on its business, operations and finances, RWM operator Travellers Hotel Group Inc noted on Wednesday that it was now 11 days since the tragic events of 2 June and four days since Pagcor suspended its license.
“Hence, it is premature at this point to assess the full impact of the foregoing events,” Travellers said.
However, the company said the mall, cinema and Newport Performing Arts Theatre were targeted to resume operations today, while non-gaming areas not affected by either the 2 June attack or the license suspension – namely the Remington Hotel, Star Cruises Center, Marriott Hotel and Marriott Grand Ballroom – continue to be fully operational.
“The Company shall inform the Exchange as soon as the assessment of the impact of the foregoing events is completed,” it said.
