Galaxy Entertainment Group has conducted a crime prevention workshop in conjunction with Macau’s Judiciary Police to discuss prevention measures for common casino crimes.
The workshop saw more than 40 frontline Galaxy staff members from the Hotel Operations, Security, Surveillance, Investigation, Table Games, Cage, Sales and VIP Departments run through various case studies with head of the Gaming-related Crimes Patrol Section, Chan Chon In, and Leong Kin Wai of the Gaming-related Crimes Patrol Section.
The Galaxy staff were introduced to the responsibilities and institutional structure of the Judiciary Police as well as shared typical cases seen in Macau and their related laws and regulations.
Knowledge gained from the workshop is aimed at helping them become more aware of illegal activities such as gaming-related crimes, banknote counterfeiting, pseudo base station fraud and money laundering, Galaxy said.
Team members and police officers also analyzed crime deterrence measures.
Galaxy also revealed that Kou Keng Lun, who works for the company’s Security Department, will be presented with an Enthusiastic Citizen Award by the Macao Customs Service after he observed and reported a criminal ring that was engaged in selling counterfeit watches on GEG premises earlier this year.
