Macau junket operator Suncity Group saw its total number of employees increase 23.5% in 2018 to 4,574, located in seven regions around the globe, the company revealed on Tuesday.
Details of the group’s rapid growth were outlined in a press release about Suncity’s 12th annual staff party, “Sun Superstars”, which saw around 2,200 team members gather at the Sheraton Grand Macao Hotel on Monday.
Suncity also revealed that MGM Suncity VIP Club recently became the ninth Suncity VIP Club in Macau to be crowned with SGS Qualicert Service Certification. The group currently operates VIP Clubs in Macau, Manila, Melbourne, Sydney, Incheon, Phnom Penh and Danang.
Suncity had announced over the weekend a series of key moves in 2019, highlighted by the acquisition of an unspecified stake in Summit Ascent Holdings Ltd – operator of Tigre de Cristal Resort & Casino in Russia.
It will also launch a new app, Sun Travel App, as part of the group’s plan to become an “all-round service platform integrating tourism, entertainment and gaming.”
