A report by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission into alleged sexual misconduct by Wynn Resorts co-founder and former Chairman Steve Wynn has been temporarily blocked from release by a Nevada judge.
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Clark County District Court Judge Elizabeth Gonzalez will make a final determination on whether the report can be publicly released after hearing arguments from both sides. Wynn is seeking to prevent their release, arguing the report contains information that is protected by attorney-client privilege. He originally filed the suit on 7 November citing breach of contract and violation of fiduciary duty.
Wynn stepped down from the Wynn Resorts board and later sold off his entire 12.1% stake in the company following allegations that he had pressured employees to perform sex acts during his time as Chairman.
The Massachusetts Gaming Commission began its investigation into whether Wynn Resorts is suitable to hold a local gaming license in March, although the board has undergone a major overhaul since Wynn stepped down and has also changed the name of its Massachusetts project, due to open in 2019, from Wynn Boston Harbor to Encore Boston Harbor.
Lawyers for the Massachusetts Gaming Commission are also arguing that the Nevada court has no jurisdiction to make determinations of what happens outside of its borders.
