Casino Data Imaging's GlobalSuite 3D Ultra Analysis

Casino Data Imaging adds to its suite of powerful real-time slot analysis and digital media solutions

The old adage “a picture paints a thousand words” applies as much to data as it does to words.

Visually representing data often results in greater clarity and increased impact. In a business context, when data is represented in visual form, users can also often assimilate the key trends more quickly, and therefore formulate and implement necessary responses in a timelier manner.

Data visualization is the name given to the process of turning disparate bits of data into a readily-accessible picture. It was first brought to the casino industry in 2001 by Casino Data Imaging, when it introduced its CasinoCAD analysis solutions, which have gone on to be installed in over 150 casinos worldwide.

At this year’s G2E Asia, CDI will showcase its brand new CDI GlobalSuite (GS) data visualization and report analysis program (for slots, table games, and player data). CDI worked closely with its client base and embraced state-of-the art technologies in developing the GS program, which, according to the company, “emphasizes the ‘visual’ in visualization analysis.

GlobalSuite provides a completely graphical representation of data gathered from the casino floor in an engaging, actionable and user-friendly format. Among its key features are dynamic 2D and 3D graphical analysis. According to CDI, “2D perspective adds a unique dimension for graphical analysis by opening up definable multi-point financial color coding and text information displays. Those requiring a higher definition view can choose 3D views for both configuration and performance analysis.”

The GS platform is based upon the latest Microsoft technologies, allowing a wide range of features including (but not limited to):

• Interaction between each GlobalSuite component (dashboard, reports, and graphical), allowing users to examine information from various perspectives simultaneously, enhancing its value as an analysis tool.

• In 2D or 3D data visualization modes, QuickView dialogs allows users to instantly view detailed information utilizing a mouse over or just point and click. If more information is desired, a further click reveals preloaded pivot analysis (based upon the user’s selection).

• GlobalSuite provides high level and in-depth views and analysis throughout the program, based on CDI’s keen understanding of user levels.

• CDI claims the platform’s bandwidth ensures GlobalSuite can continuously evolve to meet user needs. The GS modules can be adapted to existing reporting systems (Cognos, Teradata, and more).

GlobalSuite contains dynamic dashboards with a control panel that displays at-a-glance gaming performance information as well as the percentage of increase/decrease over the previous year’s performance. The initial dashboard panels display various daily, weekly, monthly and yearly trends that are date sensitive and pegged to a slider bar which updates each panel display by changing the analysis date range. Users can drill down into various child dashboards to gain a more detailed understanding of which key indicators have had a measurable impact on game performance. Casino Data Imaging proudly points out the GS dashboard was built ground up entirely by CDI engineers, and not dependent upon any third party providers.

GlobalSuite uses Data Mart and OLAP cube technology, enabling the end user to interactively analyze multidimensional data from multiple perspectives, which according to CDI, facilitates “more actionable analysis.” GS is also modular, so casino operators who have already invested in their own reporting environments but are missing, for example, graphical or dashboard components, can license the missing pieces from GS.

Also at G2E Asia, CDI will demonstrate the latest version of the iGuide Casino Wayfinder Plus system. CDI designed this program so customers will have a rich experience they want to use again and again. The user interface allows the casino to keep all game locations and amenities current.
