Korea’s leading foreigner-only casino operator, Paradise Co, reported casino sales of KRW64.0 billion (US$45.7 million) in September, up 4.3% compared with the same month last year although down 20.4% compared with August.
The September result, which came off a 13.5% sequential decline in casino drop amount to KRW656.3 billion (US$468 million), included a 22.4% month-on-month fall in table game sales – although up 3.4% year-on-year – to KRW59.0 billion (US$42.1 million). Gaming machine sales grew by 12.8% month-on-month and 16.5% year-on-year to KRW5.01 billion (US$3.6 million).
For the first nine months of 2025 combined, Paradise Co – which operates casinos in Seoul, Busan and Jeju plus integrated resort Paradise City in Incheon – has seen casino sales rise by 9.5% to KRW673.7 billion (US$481 million).
Grand Korea Leisure (GKL), which also operates casinos in Seoul and Busan, reported stable results in September with casino sales down 0.8% month-on-month but up 1.4% year-on-year to KRW34.8 billion (US$24.8 million). This was on a 0.6% sequential increase and 0.8% year-on-year decline in table game sales to KRW31.4 billion (US$22.4 million) while gaming machine sales were flipped – falling 12.4% month-on-month but rising 26.0% year-on-year to KRW3.42 billion (US$2.4 million).
The company’s casino sales for the first nine months of 2025 combined are up 10.9% to KRW318.7 billion (US$227 million).
