Macao Government Tourism Office Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes has been reappointed for another two years, with her term extending to 20 December 2027.
According to information in the Macao SAR Government’s Official Gazette, Senna Fernandes was reappointed by the Secretary for Economy and Finance for two years due to her “suitable management skills and professional experience in performing her duties”.
Her original term was set to expire on 20 December this year, but with the extension, will now run until 20 December 2027.
Senna Fernandes has served as Director of the MGTO since 2012. During this period, she also served as a member of the Gaming License Tender Committee and was the only member to participate in the committee for a second time.
In 2001, when the government first established the bidding committee, she participated as Deputy Director of the Tourism Bureau.
During her tenure, Senna Fernandes has launched several new initiatives to promote tourism in Macau, including the “Macau Week” and “Experience Macau” roadshows during the pandemic, which have been widely recognized by the industry.
