Philippines gaming technology giant DigiPlus – the country’s leading platform in the online and remote gaming space – has announced the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer and a Chief Digital Officer.
In a Philippine Stock Exchange filing on Thursday, DigiPlus said it had elected Tommy Hu as CEO, describing him as a “globally seasoned software engineer and strategic business leader with over two decades of experience spanning platform innovation, gaming operations, and enterprise-scale technology leadership.”
Hu has played a key role in the rise of DigiPlus in recent years as the “land-based architect” who helped shape the company’s vision, driving modernization and embedding a culture of innovation across teams and technologies, DigiPlus added.
His achievements include helping launch and scale BingoPlus into the Philippines’ number-one digital bingo platform and spearheading its expansion into a broader entertainment ecosystem, combining cultural relevance with world-class software performance and a player-first strategy. The company said his deep understanding of gaming behaviors has been key to crafting immersive, mobile-first, responsibly managed platforms now enjoyed by tens of millions of Filipinos.
As CEO, Hu will be responsible for leading DigiPlus into its next chapter: expanding into regulated international markets while continuing to set benchmarks in product innovation, player protection, and entertainment excellence, DigiPlus said.
The company’s new CDO is Rick Li, who joins from Ant International. According to Thursday’s filing, Li brings over 15 years of unparalleled expertise in fintech, digital payments, and technical leadership to the forefront of the gaming industry.
“As Chief Digital Officer, Rick is uniquely poised to guide DigiPlus toward digital innovation and success in the ever-evolving digital financial ecosystem,” the company said. “His profound insights and proven acumen make him an indispensable asset in navigating the complexities of today’s gaming landscape.”
The new appointments come as DigiPlus expands at phenomenal speed, with net income rising by 207% in 2024 to Php12.6 billion (US$219 million).
As reported by IAG, DigiPlus earlier this week soared more than 250 places to 223rd on the 2025 Fortune Southeast Asia 500 list – a ranking of the largest companies in Southeast Asia by revenue.
