Crown Resorts Limited has announced the appointment of John Poynton AO as a non-executive director of the board, subject to the receipt of all necessary regulatory approvals.
Poynton was nominated as a director by Consolidated Press Holdings Pty Limited to fill the vacancy created by James Packer’s resignation from the Crown Board earlier this year.
Poynton is Chairman of Jindalee Partners, Strike Energy Limited and SC8 Limited. He is a member of the Future Fund Board of Guardians, Australia’s sovereign wealth fund and is also a director of Burswood Limited (Crown Perth) and ECU’s Security Research Institute Advisory Board.
“We are delighted that John has agreed to join the Crown Board to fill the vacancy created by James Packer’s resignation,” said Executive Director John Alexander.
“John is an experienced director having previously served as Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Non-Executive Director of a number of ASX listed companies, Federal Government boards and education institutions. He will make an excellent addition to the Crown Board.”
