1xBet, a global leader in betting and official partner of FIBA, has revealed key details for the upcoming FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup 2025.

From 26 to 30 March 2025, Asia’s premier 3×3 basketball championship will be held in Singapore for the fourth consecutive time. Over five days, 25 men’s and 23 women’s national teams will battle to determine the best in Asia. The matches will be held at OCBC, Singapore’s renowned multi-purpose sports complex.

 Tournament format
Both the men’s and women’s tournaments follow the same three-phase structure:

  1. Pre-qualification
  2. Group stage
  3. Knockout stage

Teams finishing at the top of the four qualifying groups will secure a spot in the group stage, where they will compete against the eight highest-seeded teams. The group round acts as an additional qualification phase, with participants split into four groups of three.

The top two teams from each group will progress to the quarterfinals. From there, the tournament adopts a traditional knockout format, including semifinals, a third-place match and the final, which will determine the champions.

Top contenders for victory
1xBet experts have identified the favorites for the tournament.

Australia
Australia is the reigning champion in both the men’s and women’s categories. In the seven editions of the FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup, each Australian team has secured four titles. The women’s squad is powerful, featuring Anneli Maley, who recently joined the prestigious WNBA team Los Angeles Sparks, and Alex Wilson, the MVP of the Asia Cup 2024.

Mongolia
Street basketball has surged in popularity in Mongolia, generating great excitement among local fans. The men’s team is a two-time champion (2017, 2023) and broke Australia’s dominance two years ago. The women’s team won silver in the tournament’s inaugural edition 12 years ago and secured bronze in 2024, showing they are ready to challenge the favorites from Australia and New Zealand.

China
China’s teams have shown remarkable progress recently, emerging as strong contenders for Asia’s top basketball titles. The Chinese women’s team won the championship in 2022, took silver in 2018 and claimed bronze twice (2017, 2023). The men’s squad is still catching up in achievements, with two third-place finishes (2019, 2022) and a fourth-place spot in 2023. However, three consecutive semifinal appearances establish China as a serious competitor for a top spot.

Features of 3×3 basketball
For those new to the format, 3×3 basketball is renowned for its fast-paced and exciting gameplay. As the name suggests, each team consists of three players on the court, with one substitute on the roster.

Key differences from traditional basketball:

  • Played on half a court with a single hoop
  • Shots inside the arc and free throws are worth 1 point
  • Shots beyond the arc are worth 2 points
  • The shot clock is only 12 seconds (half the time of traditional basketball)
  • Matches last 10 minutes or until one team reaches 21 points

New partnership with 1xBet
For the first time in history, the FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup will be held with the support of the international company 1xBet. The collaboration, branded under the slogan “Cut the net”, marks the beginning of a new era for the tournament filled with adrenaline, spectacle, passion and fierce competition.

3×3 basketball is an incredibly dynamic sport and the crowd will erupt in applause after every precision shot, lightning-fast attack and electrifying slam dunk. Don’t miss the most thrilling moment – follow the official 1xBet pages on social media and immerse yourself in the unique atmosphere of world-class basketball!
