The “2025 Macau International Parade”, which will be held on 23 March, is expected to be paid for by Macau’s six concessionaires.
The parade is one of the major annual events in Macau, having run since 2011. It was suspended in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic before re-launching in 2024 as the first time the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) and the concessionaires have co-organized the parade and with a budget of more than MOP$7 million (US$874,000).
This year’s “2025 Macau International Parade” will also involve the participation of the six concessionaires. IC Director Leong Wai Man said the government will continue to cooperate with the concessionaires this year and that the event will be launched both online and offline, with an estimated number of participants of about 150,000 people.
Leong also noted that the cost of this year’s parade would be shared by the grantee companies and that the government would not be involved in covering any of the expenses. He did not disclose the exact amount.
This year’s parade will feature 60 Macau troupes plus 23 overseas troupes from 15 countries and regions, with the total number of performers expected to reach about 1,800.
