Malaysian gaming product distributor RGB International Bhd says it is not affected “in any way” by Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr’s ban on offshore gaming operations.
In a statement issued Thursday, the company reassured its stakeholders about its Philippine operations and noted that it has not sold any slot machines to POGOs.
“RGB’s sale of slot machines in the Philippines are only to the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), licensed integrated resorts, casinos and slot club operators, it said.
“RGB’s prospect in the Philippines remains confidently robust.”
RGB represents a number of leading slot machine suppliers in the Philippines, including Aristocrat and Light & Wonder, and recently announced a massive US$81 million deal to supply almost 2,000 new slot machines to PAGCOR.
The deal forms part of the regulator’s moves replace around 3,000 EGMs at its self-operated casinos as part of a comprehensive refresh of those properties ahead of planned privatization.
RGB reported a profit before tax of MYR25.3 million (US$5.4 million) for the three months to 31 March 2024.
