Dynam Japan, a leading pachinko hall operator, reported net profit of JPY3.39 billion for the 12 months to 31 March 2024, up 88.3% year-on-year thanks to strong revenue growth in its core pachinko business.

Group-wide revenue of JPY130.4 billion in FY24 was up 11.2% on the prior year period including an 8.9% increase in pachinko revenues to JPY124.5 billion. Revenue from the aircraft leasing business – the company owns 10 aircraft – more than doubled to JPY5.88 billion.

Gross pay-ins in Dynam’s pachinko business grew by 10.7% to JPY562.0 billion, the company added, with low-cost playing halls showing the more substantial year-on-year improvement.

Dynam has been strategically altering its pachinko operations in recent years to standardize the types of halls it operates, explaining its vision is to “reinvent pachinko gaming as a form of everyday entertainment that everyone can easily enjoy, as a regional infrastructure.”

It added, “To realise everyday entertainment, we must manage our business so that our customers consider the time and money they spend in our halls are at acceptable levels for everyday entertainment. Therefore, the Group practices chain store management as one of its management policies.

“We are building a framework that enable us to fully leverage the advantages derived from multiple-hall development, and manage all hall operations at low cost.

“Managing our pachinko halls at low cost leaves space to enable us to entertain customers with low playing cost games, which in turn leads to the realizing of everyday entertainment.”
