Macau’s hotels recorded an average occupancy rate of 89.3% in October, representing a 0.9 percentage point increase from October 2024 according to information from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC).
This included a 1.8 percentage point increase in 5-star hotels to 93.5% and a 1.0 percentage point increase in 4-star hotels to 83.7%. The occupancy rate for 3-star hotels fell by 2.6 percentage points to 82.4%.
The number of guests of Macau’s hotel establishments grew by 3.0% year-on-year in October to 1,211,000, while the number of inbound package tour visitors totalled 158,000, down by 20.6% year-on-year but up by 53.1% month-on-month.
The figures were tallied from 147 registered hotels, up by one establishment compared to the same month last year.
Of total guests, the number from mainland China grew by 1.6% year-on-year to around 885,000 while international guests rose by 20.8% to 118,000. Of those, stays from Korea were up 12.0% to 34,000, from Thailand up 67.3% to 9,000, from Japan up 31.2% to 8,000 and from India up 37.0% to 8,000.
Those from Hong Kong fell by 1.9% to 140,000 although the average length of stay of all guests extended by 0.1 nights to 1.7 nights in October.
For the first 10 months of 2025 combined, the average occupancy rate of Macau’s hotels was 89.3%, up 3.6 percentage points year-on-year.
The number of guests also increased by 0.4% year-on-year to 12,121,000, while the average length of stay of guests remained at 1.7 nights.
