Galaxy Entertainment Group executive Raymond Voon will join Macau rival Sands China as its new Senior Vice President of Marketing Strategy and Loyalty – part of an extensive executive reshuffle prompted by the departure of long-time marketing guru Virginia Lam.
Sean McCreery, Sands China’s EVP of Operations, will also depart after 10 years with the Macau concessionaire and 12 years with the Las Vegas Sands group, according to an internal memo sent by Sands China CEO and President Grant Chum, seen by Inside Asian Gaming.
With Lam leaving after 15 years “to pursue other interests and opportunities”, Chum said that Philip Lam and Kitty Chui will jointly oversee the sales and service functions in Market Development and Premium Mass Services, while Voon will join to oversee the marketing and loyalty functions within Market Development.
Voon, Chum noted, brings 28 years of experience in strategic planning, casino marketing, customer service and loyalty programs, most recently serving as Corporate SVP of Customer Services at Galaxy Entertainment Group.
Voon, Lam and Chui will all report directly to Chum.
McCreery, meanwhile, will depart “to embark on a new chapter in his career.”
Chum said, “Sean successfully performed a number of senior leadership roles across the company over the past decade. With his professionalism and commitment, he made significant contributions to the company’s success during his tenure. We are grateful to Sean for his leadership and dedication over the past decade.”
With McCreery departing, Cetin Tanisman will continue in his responsibilities for overseeing Casino Operations with Calin Stefan and Mike Palmieri reporting directly to him.
John Burger, currently Vice President Operations China South at Hilton, will also join Sands China as Senior Vice President of Resort Operations, reporting to Tane Picken and overseeing Hotel Operations, Customer Experience Design & Innovation, and MICE and Transportation, ensuring the “continued delivery of exceptional service standards across all properties”.
