Konami Gaming cited the impact of US tariff measures and a reluctance by customers to purchase product ahead of the company’s new cabinet launch for a 4.5% decline in revenue in its Gaming & Systems segment to JPY17.8 billion (US$115 million) in the six months to 30 September 2025.
Segment profit was also down by 60.1% to JPY949 million (US$6.2 million).
The year-on-year decline came despite Konami reporting stable performance in its key North American and Australian markets, explaining that the constant introduction of new products by competing slot machine manufacturers had provided for new placement opportunities. These included the launch of the K-Pow! Pig series – which has gained popularity in the Australian market – into the US alongside the What the duck series. In Australia, the newly introduced Bull Rush Stampede and the Power Panther series have enjoyed popularity, it said.
Nevertheless, Konami was “affected by the US tariff measures and customers’ reluctance in purchasing ahead of the upcoming new cabinet launch,” the company explained.
Konami launched its new Solstice cabinet at G2E in early October – its first new cabinet line in six years and featuring first-of-its-kind lighting elements that interact dynamically with gameplay.
Looking ahead, Konami said it is engaged in developing new slot machines, new gaming content and new features for its casino management system, and noted that the recent acquisition of a gaming-related vendor license in the United Arab Emirates will help open up new market opportunities.
Konami’s Gaming & Systems segment was the only business segment to suffer a year-on-year decline for the six months to 30 September, with the group reporting record first-half revenue and profit for the second straight year.
Consolidated revenue grew by 22.1% year-on-year to JPY224.8 billion (US$1.46 billion) while profit attributable to owners of the parent was up 27.7% to JPY46.5 billion (US$302 million).
