The UAE’s gambling regulator has announced former Sightline Payments executive Jennifer Carleton as Chief of Licensing and Investigations as it continues to strengthen its executive team.
In a social media post, the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) said Carleton will play a key role in advancing the authority’s mission to regulate with integrity, transparency and global best practice while it builds a world-class regulatory framework for the UAE’s commercial gaming sector.
It also noted that she brings with her 30 years of experience in gaming law, regulation and compliance, having advised some of the world’s most prominent public and private land-based gaming facilities and entertainment companies.
“Her extensive background has fostered strong relationships with global regulators and licensing professionals, reinforcing her reputation as a trusted leader in gaming compliance and governance,” the GCGRA said.
Carleton most recently served as Chief Legal Officer at Sightline Payments where she led on Anti-Money Laundering, Title 31, BSA and currency regulation at both federal and state levels, the regulator explained. She previously spent a decade as Senior Staff Attorney for the Oneida Tribe.
Established in September 2023, the GCGRA is chaired by former MGM Resorts boss Jim Murren and counts former Missouri regulator and long-time General Counsel for GLI Kevin Mullally as its CEO.
