Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) will close its only satellite casino, Waldo Casino, this Friday, the company has announced.
Waldo, operated by GEG subsidiary Galaxy Casino Company Limited (GCSA), will cease operations at 11:59 pm on 31 October with the company stating Monday that it is working closely with the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) to ensure a smooth and compliant closure process in accordance with legal requirements.
With the DICJ’s approval, all gaming tables currently operating at Waldo Casino will be reallocated to other casinos under GEG’s operations while local team members currently working at Waldo Casino will be reassigned to other casinos or non-gaming roles under based on operational needs, with all employment terms remaining unchanged.
GEG added that it would provide affected staff with a series of vocational training programs to support their transition into new working environments and to ensure continued job stability.
Following the subsequent arrangement for the redemption of Waldo Casino, chips bearing the Galaxy Macau logo will be redeemable at designated counters at Galaxy Macau or StarWorld from 1 November 2025.

Waldo Casino operates under GEG’s City Club entity which originally ran three satellite casinos: Waldo, President and Rio. The licenses of President and Rio were cancelled when GEG signed its new 10-year concession contract with the Macao SAR Government in 2022.
On 9 June this year, the government announced that none of the 11 remaining satellite casinos would have their contracts renewed, with all to close by the end of this year.
