The number of foreign visitor arrivals to the Philippines is down almost 3% for the first seven months of 2025 combined, impacted by the continued decline in visitation from key source markets South Korea and China.
According to latest information from the Department of Tourism, total visitor arrivals through July reached 3,506,356, down 1.35% year-on-year, with foreign visitation down 2.79% to 3,185,370. Overseas Filipinos accounted for 320,986, up 15.68%.
The decline in arrivals from South Korea remains an issue for the Philippines, with the 759,009 arrivals representing an 18.62% fall compared with the same period last year – although South Korea remains the Philippines’ top source market. Arrivals from China are also down 27.58% to 159,140, ranking China in fifth place for visitor arrivals.
Arrivals from the UK, currently ranking eighth, are down 12.70% to 119,016 and from Indonesia, 16th, down 24.72% to 26,806.
Countries to show growth in 2025 include the US, up 8.80% to 631,384 and in second spot, Japan in third up 18.75% to 253,963 and Australia in fourth up 18.77% to 178,236.
